Marquette 2019 WR Ethan Martysz has committed to Michigan Tech.
The senior had six offers and chose the Huskies over Northern Michigan, Minnesota-Duluth, Drake, Saint Anselm, and Morehead State.
Martysz picked the closest option to home with Michigan Tech being just a little under two hours from his hometown, Marquette.
“I chose Michigan Tech because I felt it was the right fit for me,” says Martysz. “They have an unreal staff, great education, and are close to home.”
He adds how supportive his family and coaches were in the process.
“The coaches at Tech were very involved with me, they made me feel comfortable. I think I made the right decision and we will have a great class coming in next year!”
Martysz does have a family connection to Michigan Tech with his uncle attending college there.
“I knew before I visited in the summer it was a great school because my uncle talked to me about it when he went there. My whole family was very supportive of me and got me to the point I’m at.”
Martysz had a pretty unique recruiting process coming from a school in the UP, it can be hard to get exposure but Martysz received offers from schools in five different states, (Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Kentucky, and New Hampshire).
Martysz is also on the Marquette Varsity basketball team which recently won the Petoskey tournament with dominating wins over two good programs in Brighton, and Petoskey.
Martysz had 45 receptions for 939 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season according to TheDZone.com.
