Grand Blanc 2019 DB Kortez Toles will visit Michigan on Saturday when the Wolverines take on Nebraska in their Big Ten opener.
“I’ve been talking to the recruiting coach, Coach (Tony) Jones. He used to go to Grand Blanc, and has seen me play and wanted me to come down to a game,” says Toles.
Toles has received his fair share of interest from colleges so far with seven offers from schools such as Pittsburgh, Toledo and Central Michigan but says an offer from Michigan would change everything.
“An offer from Michigan would mean everything to me!” Says Toles. “My dad loves Michigan and always told me ‘if you get offered by Michigan you better commit there on the spot’ and everyone knows the best players in Michigan go to Michigan.”
Before Toles gets down to Ann Arbor Friday he has a big game of his own as the Bobcats of Grand Blanc take on Davison who both come into the game 4-0 in a pivotal SVL matchup.
“I’ve never played Davison, and it’s a new rivalry for us because we’re both good but they’ve been talking a lot so we have a lot to prove Friday.”
Grand Blanc is coming off a big win over Carman-Ainsworth last Friday defeating them 42-14 and is looking to take the momentum into Friday’s matchup against Davison.
“We just have to keep doing what we’re doing, going to practice knowing we have to get better and being prepared. Keeping focus and knowing our jobs and executing them on Friday.”
Toles is rated a “3 Star” and ranked 35th best player in Michigan according to 247sports.com
