2019 Chippewa Valley DB Ja’von Kimpson committed to Miami (OH) last night (June 26th) becoming Miami’s 21st commitment in the 2019 class which is currently ranked first in the MAC.
Kimpson says there’s a lot of reasons he chose Miami including their style of play.
“I love to lock down at corner of course,” says Kimpson. “They have a family atmosphere with the coaches and players, nice facilities, and I feel I fit well in the program.”
Although Kimpson is satisfied with his process he says there is a couple things he wishes he would’ve done differently.
“I feel like I could’ve done a little more research, but overall I’m happy I get to go ball out and found the best fit for me.”
With the commitment to Miami (OH) Kimpson will be making the move from Michigan to Ohio, a journey he’s excited for.
“No one is really ‘ready’ to leave their family we’ve been with our whole lives but I think this will be a great experience and I am looking forward to something new.”
Before he graduates in a little under a year Kimpson has one more season of padding up at Chippewa Valley which he is excited for.
“I’m looking forward to the hard work with my brothers, the locker room before games, the fun away bus rides. This is our season and we have to make it a great one.”
Kimpson is rated a 2 Star and ranked the 53rd best player in Michigan in the 2019 class according to Midwest Prep Lounge.
