Detroit King/Northern Illinois ATH commit Jalem McGaughy has patiently waiting for us his chance to get attention.
His chance has come.
McGaughy who is committed to Northern Illinois University, spent last season hurt which may be why his recruitment has been a little delayed.
“My recruiting has been going well even though I missed last season with an injury. I told myself when I was going through that that I was going to make sure I would bounce back better than ever and it has paid off.”
For McGaughy last season was a learning curve and really tested his patience and he’s glad to finally be competing and getting ready for his final season.
“It was so hard on me last season to sit out but I made sure to stick with my team and worked hard at my therapy sessions so I could get back out on the field with my teammates playing the sport I love. I’m very excited for this season and to showcase my talents.”
On Sunday June 3rd at the Best of The Midwest Camp McGaughy saw his recruitment heat up getting his first ‘Power Five’ offer from Syracuse and last Sunday June 10th at Minnesota’s camp, McGaughy received his first Big Ten offer from the Gophers.
“I’ve been getting some big offers now but I’m still committed to NIU.”
As for other camps in the future this summer McGaughy will be attending Michigan’s camp on June 16th.
McGaughy is ranked the 40th player in the state of Michigan according to Midwest Prep Lounge rankings.
